Jess Ofelia Sandoval is a visual artist from Southeast LA. She was born in Compton and raised in Paramount, California. Her mediums include textile, painting, and mosaic work.
Memory and place are central to Sandoval’s work. Rather than approaching places through nostalgia or sentimentality, she explores how places mean different things to different people and how those meanings can change over time. Through abstraction, color, and form, her work reflects the shifting, layered experience of remembering a place without attempting to recreate or idealize it.
